I am a full-time library student at Syracuse University. I will be graduating Spring 2008 from SU's MSLIS program with a Master's Degree as well as a Certificate in Digital Libraries.
I am a mid-life returning student beginning to plan my internships (non-paid, but course credit) for this
coming year, my last at SU. I open to internship possibilities locally or outside this area. As of this summer, if things work out I will be staying here doing internships regionally and then search nationwide for full-time employment in 2008.

I am interested in either academic or special librarianship.
My most recent Digital Libraries classes (Spring and Summer 2008) have me really energized about working in this profession. I had the opportunity to learn about planning, access, management and preservation. I'm very excited to begin my library career.

I'm applying for 2 separate internships, one for the Fall and one for the Spring. I'm applying for one internship locally and another at a museum/archive close by. I haven't contacted either of these institutions yet, so I'd rather not say much more than that. But that is my plan. One is academic and one is archive/museum. Does that sound like a plan?

What resources have you used to find an internship? Are there resources at SYR that could help you? Did you try the career center?
